Avery went to the ACSI Speech Meet today, which is the speech meet for Christian schools in the area. She said the poem, My Favorite Word. She was very excited.

We played Tic Tac Toe while we waited.
In the room, ready to say her speech. She got to sit by her friend, Lindsay. Avery was so excited, she kept talking when she shouldn't be. She was the second one to say her speech. She did great. I asked her if she got nervous and she said that went away once she saw where she would be. We weren't allowed to take a video or any pictures during the speech.
She got a blue ribbon. The ribbon says "Superior" at the top. She started to sound it out and thought it said "Super Hero." :)
Then we went out to lunch at Subway to celebrate before heading back to school. It turns out Miren learned the poem. I had the poem in my head the other day and started saying it then stopped myself- Miren then went on to finish the rest of the poem for me. It's amazing how good kids' memories are.
