Kyra is Two!

Kyra turned 2 on July 30th.  At her well check, Kyra weighed 24 lbs (33rd %ile) and was 34" long (49th%ile).  Kyra's favorite foods are smoothies, fruit, cheese, and pasta.  She is a very happy kid.  We get comments often from people we know and strangers at how happy she always seems.  She loves to smile for others.  Her personality is pretty calm.  However, if she feels that she has not gotten what she wants she yells, "Hey" to try to get what she wants.  She also yells "Yay" when she hears something that she gets to do that she loves like taking a bath or getting a popsicle.  She is pretty expressive with us through her facial and body expressions.  She will pout when she doesn't get her way by hanging her head and arms like a monkey and sometimes adding a moan to the mix.  She has been VERY slow with using words.  A few months ago I heard her start to say Avery and Miren's names and I tried to get her to repeat them.  She wouldn't - then she didn't try again until a couple of weeks ago.  She calls Avery- "Avwee" and Miren- "Mi Me".  Now she says there names a lot especially in bed at night when they are sleeping and she wants them to be awake.  (I am pretty sure the fact that they all sleep in the same room makes them sounder sleepers.)

Hard to believe that she is 2 already.  Here is a picture from about 5 days old.

 She loves to help.

If her sisters are doing something fun - she makes sure she is a part of the mix too.

We had a little party for her with my sister's family.  We had a party themed after the book, The Hungry Catepillar.  We had a food to represent every food the catepillar ate in the book.  Then Avery read the book for all of the kids.

Aunt Sarah and Uncle Matt and cousins gave Kyra a talking Olaf (from Frozen).  It makes a sound if you make any kind of movement around it.  Andy is already plotting his revenge on Sarah.

We had a pinata.  That was interesting.

The pinata came off the string so Andy told Miren to really wack it.

We had cupcakes in the shape of a catepillar with s'more frosting on top.  Kyra was terrified of the lit candles, so that kind of ruined the cake moment.

Our friends gave us this car because they were done with it.  So we gave it to her for her birthday.

She LOVES Moka.  He tolerates her.  I found her like this on him the other day.  I took the picture then made her get off.  She seems to get the concept of petting gentle most of the time, but apparently she was trying to either snuggle with him or ride him.  Not sure which.

Her all time favorite activity is coloring, but she has to be watched like a hawk while she is coloring because she prefers to color on other things besides paper.
