Part of the fun of Christmas is all of the activities come leading up to Christmas. This year we were home for Christmas, so we were more intentional about building our own traditions and trying to experience several of the special Christmas activities that Phoenix has. Here is some of what we did.
We met our friends, Amanda and Aiden at the Parade of Lights in Phoenix. Kyra and Aiden were especially thrilled at Mickey Mouse the Grand Marshall. The girls really enjoyed the parade. I have to admit though that having been to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC I am ruined for parades. My standards are too high. :)
Avery, Miren, and I went to the Nutcracker Ballet. This is our lunch beforehand.
We enjoyed the ballet so much. It was very special seeing the girls sit on the edge of their seats as they watched.
Playing games with Daddy
Heading out in jammies and with hot chocolate to drive around and see the Christmas lights. Kyra was really in awe of the lights. It was great listening to her comments.
Making gifts for friends and teachers
Love watching my girls enjoy each other...
Decorating cookies is always a highlight.
We went to Glendale Glitters to enjoy the lights
An excuse to drink hot chocolate and wear winter hats
We went to the aquarium over Christmas break at the Arizona Mills Mall. It was a neat little aquarium.
